Info from "Gathering of Oates" by Christine McNutt Oates. John Oates (son of William and Jean Sloan Oates, grandson of John Oates and Fannie Reed(Reid). John and Fannie died in Pennsylvania. William and Jean are buried in Long Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gaston Co. NC.

John and Mary Jane Brawley Oates had six known children. Sarah married Adam Neill. They moved to Georgia.

Sorry that I do not have additional info on Sarah. I do have the will etc. for John Oates, Cumberland Co. Pa. I descend through John Oates who married Mary McGill (widow of Joseph Blackwood).
