We share the entire line I'm working on.....I know about WH Oates & you know about your grandfather.
I've sent for Marriage Indexes from Genealogy.com for KY & MO. I'm hoping there will be something about Richard's first wife, the mother of the twins. I also sent for Marshall Oates' SS application hoping it will tell the name of his parents. I never heard of "Dolph" until I saw the 1900 census & Richard, Bill & Birt were living with him. I do know that Dolph's wife was Minnie Horner, later Hanners & she may or may not have been Emma Oates' (my grandmother) sister, as well as sister-in-law. I still don't know who Emma's parents were.
