According to my database of baptisms and marriages located at http://www.oats.org.uk/gen/bpt/oats_search.htm there was a John baptised 2 July 1866 at Sancreed the son of William and Grace HOSKING. You can also use http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp Check the 1891 and 1901 census records as they should indicate the place of birth. If you want further details let me know. I have checked my main Oats genealogy database and I don't appear to have inserted this family yet but I do have raw data on the family.
