Does anyone have anymore information on the Carraway family of Ferreby Carraway. I am interested for this reason. Ferreby Carraway married Stephen(son) Oates. Their son, James Oates, married Mary Margaret Grantham. Mary Margaret's brother, Alexander Matthew Grantham, was my husbands gg grandfather. In the 1850 Barbour County, Alabama census, Matthew Grantham and family are found at:

also living in the household is Henry Carraway, born in South Carolina and 21 years of age. For a while I thought his name was Henry Carraway Grantham, their oldest son, but now realize his name is Henry Carraway. I think Matthew Grantham is his uncle, but I would like to place him in the right Carraway family if someone has that information.
