Looking for information about a "Roy Oates" and his father, mother and sister who lived in the Loving and Winkler Counties of Texas around 1908-1912. Chester A. Gibbs wrote an autobiography in the 1960s that we are researching and Roy's father was the manager of the W Ranch in one of those counties. The land records for TX back then have a W.B. Oates and in a history we found there was a Brawley Oates. Roy was supposedly going to school to become a doctor when he and Chet parted ways.
Chet and Roy had many interesting adventures in the story. We have a group picture with these people in the photo. Chet was a photographer. Would love to hear from someone who knows about these people.
