Greetings!
I'm still hunting for information on my ancestor William Edward OATES. Since my previous post on this forum, I've learnt that William was born on the Isle of Man ca. 1812. His father was John OATES.
A possible match in the IGI is William Edward OATES baptised 20 Sep 1812, Douglas, Isle of Man, the son of John OATES and Charlotte FAYLE.
"My" William Edward OATES married Ann COLLISTER in Liverpool on 8 December 1840. In 1850, this couple emigrated to Natal (South Africa) with their 4 children and subsequently had 2 more children.
I'd appreciate help from anyone who has any additional information on William Edward OATES.
I would be happy to share information on the descendants of William Edward OATES and Ann COLLISTER with anyone who's interested.
