Hi Rob,
I've heard that there are people like you on the web - but fortunately I've never met one before. I don't need history lessons - especially incorrect history lessons - and if you care to look on www.bretton.org you will see what I'm talking about. There are records abounding if you know where to look for them and the Oates and the Brettons are descended from the same ancestor. Fortunately for both of us our joint tree shows an ancestor marrying into the famous Wentworth family in the 1500's. Their pedigree is very well documented and available in many public libraries in England.
We don't need this sort of thing on the net and I suggest that if you are in the habit of being so insulting to someone on so short (fortunately) an acquaintance you either get off the net - or stop drinking
