Searching for any information about the Oaks/Oakes families of Knox & Anderson Counties TN about 1850's on.
Hezekiah Oaks married Malinda Shelton in 1851 Knox County TN . Malinda was born most probably Anderson County TN about 1833 to Jesse Shelton and Lucinda Millican. The family is found in Knox County TN 1850 living nearby to :

I can't find Malinda Shelton Oaks and husband Hezekiah at all in the 1860 census ;son Isaac was born abt. 1853 and daughter Amanda J. abt. 1859 both listed as born in TN another son John H. is listed as born in Knox County TN abt. 1867.
Did Malinda marry the Knox County Hezekiah? and if not where did Hezekiah go?
Malinda Oaks is found in Laurel County KY in 1870 with her children living near her Shelton siblings and married to John William Martin by 1880 . She is found with her family in Scott County TN till her death abt.1914-18
