I have this information on my daughter's family and wonder if we possibly have a connection. Thank you - Kathleen

The Family of Peter Nystrum
“Our History, Our Community, Our People, Moville, Iowa 1887-1987”

Peter Nystrum was born February 17, 1856, near Stockholm, Sweden, and came to Kiron, Iowa, in 1874, where his cousin lived, and found a job with the railroad. (Family legend says he originally came to Minnesota, then on to Iowa). He changed his name from Nystrum to Neustrom (The name was changed between 1840-1850???).
Peter married Mary Hayes (September 24, 1853-September 10, 1914) from Danbury, Iowa, and they farmed in the Danbury area. Their eight children were: Josephine, born June of 1879; John E. or Jack (October 17, 1881-April 11, 1933); Frank E. (January, 1884-1966); Martin J. or Marty was born in July of 1886 in Danbury; William H. or Bill (May 1888-1970); Lena A. (January 13, 1890-May 13, 1949); Charles E. or Charlie (September 6, 1891-October 17, 1918); and Annette or Nettie who was born in July of 1893.
Peter was thrown from a wagon onto a cold, frozen ground when the team of horses ran away and was paralyzed and lived his last eleven years in St. Joseph hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, and died February 27, 1930.
