Sorry that I have been slow in getting back to you.
It is ironic that your family moved from Saskatchewan to Vancouver. My family homesteaded in Roblin, Manitoba and we moved to Duncan, B. C. in 1967.My Mom and Dad now live in Kamlops.
I see by your message that you have a good selection of names. You would do better if you have the exact birthdates and their place of birth.Since you live in Vancouver, there is a good library at the Mormon church on Kincaid Street in Burnaby. They welcome people to come in and do family research. They will ask you if you are a member and just say no (I assume) and they will sign you in and help you get started.I did a lot of research at their facility in the late 1980's.
At present there are a lot of web sites that you can access. The Mormon's have a web site for their libraries in Salt Lake City.I do not know these sites as I am not really active in my research these days. The folks in Burnaby will help you or do a search on the web.
You can also join your local genealogical society.
Another item that will be of help is to purchase the computer software called Family Tree Maker. They have a lot of data on CD's.Family Tree Maker will also help you record the data that you are collecting.
I have a good friend in Vancouver with the last name Nystrom. He tells me that his sister has researched their family tree. She found that their name was Jensen before it was changed to Nystrom. You will find the same thing if you dig far enough back. Our family name was Johansson before it was changed to Nystrom. Our name was changed in about 1700.By the way, the name Nystrom means "by the stream" in Swedish (at least that is what I have been told.
Good luck with your research. Please keep me posted and maybe you can get me researching again.
Jim
