Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Nancy:

My grandmother was a Nygren. Her father was born near Lund, Skane, Swenden. His name was Nels Nygren. However, Nels father was Nels Pearson. Nels Pearson had a son Peter that came to America in 1868 and when came he changed his name to Nygren which means "a new branch or growth." There is no mention of a Gustaf Nygren in the family info I have. But I thought it might help you to know about a possible name change. Good Luck with your search.
