Wallace E. Marsh

My great-great-grandfather was Wallace E. Marsh. According to his Civil War Pension File, he was born March 4, 1833 in Hermatige, Wyoming Co, NY.

Wallace enlisted in the Union Army in Keokuk, Iowa and returned there after he was discharged in 1864. He married there and then moved west, living in California and Union County, Oregon before homesteading in Whitman County, Washington. He died in the Home for Volunteer Soldiers in Los Angeles in 1917.

I am looking for his parents and wonder if anyone has any information on a Marsh family living in the Wyoming County, NY area in the early 1800's. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
