Hi Milly, and many thanks!!
That's way more info than i had previously. All we really knew was that the Saunders family came from Ireland, possibly Dublin. And, the name Kohler just didn't struck me as Irish, or even English.
If it's of any interest, we have an oil portrait on the livingroom wall, of a young girl. It's labeled on the back as "Edith Saunders". Will try to get a photo of it.
If the Kohlers originated in Germany, please give me an idea where. I'm a member of a number of German genealogy forums, & can read write & speak German. Can even do translations, provided that the original isn't in sloppy handwriting.
