Could someone help me with an interesting request? I just spoke to the widow of a cousin I'd been searching for. Evidently, in 1932, when this guy was a little boy, he was out with his nanny, and was mistaken for the recently kidnapped Lindbergh baby! The family had to go through quite a bit of rigmarole to convince the authorities that he was not the Lindbergh heir. I'm writing a huge genealogical book about this extended family, and this story would be a fascinating addition to the book, if I can find it. If someone has some time at the library, I'd be willing to send money for gas, copies, and postage. The Lindbergh baby was kidnapped March 1, 1932. He was found dead May 12, 1932. I'm figuring that within those two months, something may have appeared in the local White Plains paper where the family lived. The fake Lindbergh baby's name was Edward Burt. His parents were Earle and Christina Burt. Anyone willing to help, please e-mail me at the address included in my signature. Thanks so much! Laini Notify Administrator about this message?
