Natalie we may be on to something here. What census did you see George Brown living near Henry Allen?

I have a George Brown as my g.g.g.g.Grandfather, his daughter was Elizabeth Brown, she married John Hursh. John and Elizabeth were the founding family of Mt. Pleasant, Mi in about 1854. George Brown is buried with his daughter at the Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Mi. George's wife's name was Permelia Briggs.

My Ambrose Allen who is the son of Spencer Allen, when he arrived in Mt. Pleasant around 1865 he stayed with the Hursh family. Ambrose also named a son Henry.

There may be a link between Henry Allen and Ambrose Allen. Ambrose was born in 1814 so he and Henry could be cousins, or possible uncle and nephew.

If this is correct George Brown would have been an uncle to Ambrose Allen's step brothers. Ambrose mother Sophia Kelly Allen married Elijah Hill after Spencer Allen died. Elijah's first wife was Hepsibah Brown possible sister to George Brown.

So we have a Hill, Brown and Allen connection going here.

Natalie my e-mail is if you want to write me directly. I would like to include one of my cousins in our conversations, Cherie has a very large data base of Allen names so she may have come across your Henry.
