Hi Natalie, my name is Steve Allen, I put the posting about Spencer Allen on the genforum site about 5 years ago. We know that Spencer Allen married Sophia Kelly in Aug. of 1812 in the Macedon, N.Y. area. They had two children, Ambrose b. 1814 and Mary Ann b. 1818. We then show Sophia Kelly Allen marrying Elijah Hill on Aug. 12, 1821. Our assumption is that Spencer died between 1818 and 1821 so Sophia remarried. I am technically not related to the Hill family, he would have been a step G.G.G.Grandfather to me, and Sophia would be my g.g.g.Grandmother. Elijah Hill was first married to Hepsibah Brown, at this time I show them with Jessey, Moses, Alpheus, Aaron and Elihu Hill as children. The interesting thing for me that I have just started looking at is Hepsibah, I have a g.g.g.grandmother Elizabeth Brown and her father was George Brown my g.g.g.g.grandfather, it is quite possible that my George is a brother to Hepsibah. We also show where Ambrose Allen had different interactions in Michigan with his Step Brothers on the Hill side, buying and selling of land. Sophia Kelly Allen Hill died on March 28, 1871 in Wheatland Twp., Hillsdale Co. Mi. She was moving west with her and Elijah Hill's son Willis, she probably died at one of her step sons farms in Wheatland twp., Mi. I'm interested in your Henry S. Allen and Anna Hill connection. Ambrose Allen named one of his sons Henry Edward Allen. You don't know what the S. in your Henry S. Allen stood for do you or who his parents were? If it was Spencer we might be on to something. Talk to you soon. Steve Notify Administrator about this message?
