Samuel Black was living about 1830 in Port Bay (which he noted on his application was formerly called Wolcott to move his Rev War pension to Michigan where he wanted to move to be with his family.)
I have not found him on any census records. Are their land or tax records that might note his existence here?
He was born circa 1764 in Massachusetts, moved to Oneida Co, NY then to PortBay/Wolcott, Wayne Co., NY and finally to Blissfield, Lenawee Co., MI to live with his daughter Roxana and her second husband Luther Smith.
