Hi Clare,
Yes, Philip seems to be unresearched by the Mead's of Wayne Co., NY. Primarily, I'm sure, because his line died out with his dau. many years ago. I have no doubts he is related to one of the 2 Mead Lines in Wayne Co., NY.
The boatman as a profession for Philip on the 1850 census in Wayne Co. did surprise me as he was listed as a farmer on later census'.
