The Wayne Co. Historian's office has a large collections of obits but I'm not sure how recent they go.

Since the family moved from Wayne Co. more than 60 years earlier it's unlikely that there would have been sufficient local interest for the newspaper to publish an obit unless there were still a lot of relatives in the area.
