I am searching for information on Amos Wheeler who enlisted in the Civil War in Clyde/Galen,Wayne Co. NY. In 1862 a Peter Wheeler had enlisted from Savanah.
Also Freeman, Lucus,and Franklin Pettys enlisted in the area. Amos Wheeler was born in Washington Co. NY the son of Peter Wheeler and Elizabeth Pettys. He tried to enlist at 15 in Fort Ann in 1861 but was to young.
Was Amos related to either Peter Wheeler or to the Pettys. Did the Pettys have ties to Washington Co.
