I'm looking for any information on William H. Lyle who was born 4/22/1863 and married Helen Sophia Bullard (from Glens Falls). They had two daughters, Edith and Ruth (b.7/10/1886). On August 1, 1887 there was a very unfortunate train accident in which Helen and her eldest daughter Edith were killed. Ruth survived the accident but her father, William H. Lyle felt he was unable to take care of an infant. He found a family in Lansingburg, N.Y. (now North Troy) who raised her. The family was Peter and Carrie Chapman. Carrie was a Lansing and was from the family that Lansingburg was named after. William H. Lyle soon moved to Toronto, Canada where he met a new wife (Ida M.) and had two sons and a daughter. They are all listed in the 1901 and 1911 Canadian Census. He had an undertaking business in Toronto at 38 Bernard Street. Ruth died in 1928 and I have a letter from William H. Lansing to Ruth's adopted father Peter Chapman in 1928 following her death. There is a record of death of William H. Lyle in 1930 in York County which is the county that Toronto is in. However, I have not found any information on where William H. Lyle came from, where he was born or what his parent's names are. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
