To follow-up my earlier reply: your posting got me thinking further about the Margison-Van Keuren connection as my husband's maternal grandmother was a Van Keuren. When I finally got some free time (replacing my computer has taken up a lot of time & energy!), I connected some dots and was pleasantly surprised at what I found.

I discovered that 1) Ella Margison and my husband were 1st cousins 3xR, 2) her mother, Mary, was his great grandaunt, 3) Franklyn Van Keuren was a 1st cousin 3xR, and 4) George's wife, Gertrude Van Keuren, was a second cousin 2xR. Small world, isn't it! Looks like my husband and you are cousins!

Ella's mother was an ARMSTRONG, the daughter of Milton Armstrong & Eleanor BONNELL (they are buried in the Old Cemetery in Mongaup Valley). Ella's older sister, Syrena, married about 1885, Eugene Van Keuren of Bethel (they were my husband's great grandparents).

Franklyn Van Keuren was the son of Thomas Van Keuren & Gertrude Dearin.

Gertrude Van Keuren's parents were James E. Van Keuren & Hannah UNK.

That's just a brief overview. Hope it is of some help.

Where did you come across Ella's obituary?
