Hobarts - Liberty area of Sullivan
Posted by: Katherine Turnipseed (ID *****1670) Date: September 26, 2007 at 18:16:32

My name is Katherine Turnipseed
My mother was Mary Elizabeth Hobart.
Her parents were Benson Emmitt Hobart and Josephine Engle

I have a portion of a diary that my grandmother Josephine wrote from the time that she was 14 to about 17. In it she states that they went into liberty to see Benson's parents. Now, from family legend, Benson's parents were John Henry Hobart who married twice first to a Sarah J. and second to a Viola Delancey (whom I later found out was originally a Wheat. If anyone knows the maiden name of Sarah J. I would appreciate any info about this lady and any info on Hobarts in the area of Liberty.
Other areas are Calicoon and White Sulpher Springs.
Most family lived in and around Dahalia Road.
Siblings of Mary were:
Harrison, Bertha, Clara, Sarah, Edith, cannot remember last sister as never met her.
If anyone can shed any light on this family I can be reached at ecowar2@hughes.net
