BARTON and BATES - Liberty - 1840 and on

Hello,

I am researching my husband's ancestors' connection to Sullivan County and on.

Henry and Sarah/Sally BATES BARTON moved to Liberty, Sullivan County about 1843.
He was a carpenter.
They brought with them two sons: John Henry, born about 1837 in NY County.
and James (E?) born about 1841 in NY County.
They may have had other children while in Sullivan County.
John Henry married Henrietta BROWN possibly in Liberty...they lived in Sullivan County, and had some of their children here.
He served from NY in the Civil War.

Any information on this family and their connection to Sullivan County would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.
Georgia OSCHMAN DENMAN
