In the 1910 Census, living with Sturges (age 50, single, Farmer) were his brother Richard L.(age 35, single, Farmer); his sister Isabella (age 46, single); their mother, something Jane (I couldn't make it out, it was almost illegible), age 74, widow.

In the 1920 Census, Sturges is living alone in the incorporated place of LaMesa City, San Diego township, CA.
He is listed as a Farmer, Truck Farm.
