The 1850 Federal Census of Fallsburgh lists Daniel D. Tompkins age 29, Philinda age 29 and these two children Lucinda 6 and (on the following page) Eliza 3. In 1870 Lucinda A. (?Tompkins) Whitcomb and husband Chester Eugene Whitcomb with daughter Belle age 3 months are listed in Jewett, Greene County, NY. Just a few doors away an Eliza Tompkins age 22 resides in the home of George H. Chase. Can anyone give confirmation that they are the daughters of Daniel D. Tompkins and wife Philinda? The Windham Journal Extracts in NYDAR town and cemetery records give the marriage of Lucinda & Chester at Prattsville on 6Feb1867. The bride was then of Grahamsville, Sullivan County, NY.
