In the 1883 & 84 Land Assessment Ledger for the town of Forestburgh, a William C. Matthews owns three parcels of land: 35 acres (10 acres improved), 12 acres, and 10 acres (10 acres improved), the three parcels are worth a combined $175 both years. Also in 1883 William C. Matthews owns a male dog. I hope this helps you some.
