Thank you so much for your reply. I think this might be the right family because Joseph Brown & Matilda Libolt had a son by the name of John M. Brown born 1850. I also have a James H. Brown but he was born in 1876, the son of John M. Brown. John & Esther Libolt could be Matilda's parents. I would love to find out why the grandchildren were living with the grandparents. It's possible that they both died very young but I have been unable to find out anything about Joseph & Matilda so far. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks again.
