What I know: he is my ggg-grandfather via daughter Bridget; he d. 30 Mar 1879 age 97 int Westfield Flats Cem near grave of Jehiel Stewart. He was born in CT. Bridget's mother was born NY. [this is Not the Bridget Smith of Bridgeville]
What I think: he was the son of Trustram/Tristram Smith.
What I'd like to Know: who all of his children were, Bridget's mother, [Freeman may have had as many as 3 wives]
If or how we are related to Elisha Smith who murdered Nannery [ see Quinlan's for story]- Elisha lived a few miles from Amos Y Sheely in the same area where Freeman Smith's property was. After Freeman's death his property, west half of lot #53 of 81 1/4acres[Buck Eddy area], was settled/will? 1885-86 by my greatgrandfather Fernando Rose.
Listed as heirs were Bridget Rose, Rachel Cochran, Martha Kinch, Fanny Byars, John A Smith, William G Smith and Orrin B Smith. Is there anyone who can do a census lookup for the Smiths in t/o Rockland around 1850/55 or thereabouts so maybe I can piece this puzzle together?
