I am looking for information on Abner Seelye (Seely, Seeley) who was a Captain under Col. Seth Warner of the Green Mountain Boys.

Abner was born 17 FEB 1739 in New Milford CT. He died in 1784 in Fallsburg, Sullivan County, NY. Abner married Hannah Thayer in New Milford CT in 1759. Their children were: Sheldon, Thankful, Oliver, Abner and two other children born in 1772 and 1774 in Vermont.

Captain Seelye's son Abner was a miller at the grist mill in 1809. He was succeded by his son Oliver and his grandson, Horace.

If anyone knows anything about this family I would be very interested. Thank you.

Mary
