My grandfather's name was Andrew Brucher. I believe what may have been his uncle was postmaster in Monticello too. It looks that way on the census sheet I have. I wrote the Post Office but no one answered.

I think his name was Harrison Brucher. It's funny because I have worked with the census 3 times now. Some of the writing is terrible. I was looking at one census sheet and happened to notice Harrison was the enumerator for the census!

The Bruchers seem to not show up much even though reportedly there were 16 children born to John and Elizabeth Brucher.

They owned the land that is now the state park at Lake Superior. As the ones living pass on the land goes to the state as far as I know and have heard.

Yet there are no headstones showing where they are all buried. I bought the Gertrude Barber book and not even one is shown.
