Your post caught my eye. I don't have any ready information, but think I can help a bit. I am interested in Horace Burr who married Mary Brown 30 Dec 1847 probably in Neversink, Sullivan Co, NY. Mary was the dau of James and Betsey (Gillet) Brown. She was b. ca. 1824 in Neversink, Sullivan Co., NY.
I need to check the 1850 census data but think Horace was b. NY. Horace and Mary were living with James in the 1850 census but they are gone in the 1855 census. I would love to have whatever you can give me that would tell me where they were in IL.
I will do whatever I can to help you. Tbe Brown family was from Stamford, Fairfield CO., NY and were early settlers of Sullivan, ca. 1797. Burr is a Fairfield Co. name. see Families of Old Fairfield, Donald Lines Jacobus, 1930 (which I will check for you when I can this coming weekend).
Once again, I'm happy to share whatever I can with you.
