SMITH'S of SULLIVAN COUNTY
Posted by: Kenneth W. Ahrens Date: July 25, 2000 at 21:33:17

Am searching for info about ALONZO SMITH and wife HANNAH MARCO SMITH. They had four children the oldest Viola was borne May 2, 1916 in SULLIVAN COUNTY in the town of NEVERSINK--District 5261(?) They had 3 other children but this might indicate their appx. age. ALONZO was said to have been hit by a car and killed and HANNAH was said to have died sick (maybe cancer?) I know that ALONZO was alive when VIOLA was 13.I have been told that they had a farm where the Dam now is(?) The three other children were BLANCHE, MILDRED(MILLIE), and MARION. After the parents died I have been told that HANNAH MARCO'S mother raised the childrens for a while(?) I am not sure about this. I have been told also that there was Indian blood in the SMITH'S (?) I have seen a picture of my sister and her and I both certainly look like it. I am assuming it was on the SMITH side. ALONZO AND HANNAH were my grandparents. BLANCHE was my mother. I am the last living member of my family that I am aware of and world like to know if there is any more. I do not know if ALONZO or HANNAH had any brothers or sister. PLEASE HELP! THANKS! Kenneth Ahrens
