Davis family - Town of Mamakating

Looking for information on the following Davis family who resided in the Town of Mamakating (I believe around Summitville, close to Ulster Co. line and Walker Valley) in the early to mid-1800's.
John Davis* b. c.1795-1800, and wife Nancy _____ b. c.1805-1810.
Known children:
John, b.July 1840 in Sullivan Co., NY, married Ann Mead (she b. 1844 in SC)
Ellen, b.c1837, married William H. Brown
Other possible children are Benjamin, Rachel, Lucy, Abial and perhaps others.
It is possible that John Davis* died prior to the 1870 census at which time I find a Nancy and Lucy Davis (the ages fit) living with William Dedrick.
Am having a most difficult time with this family and would welcome any leads or suggestions. Thanks.
