Hi Sue, Thank you for replying to my message. Our lineage stems from William b. in Stratford-on-Avon in 1608. He spelled his name Hickocks. Came to NY in 1635 and settled in Farmington, CT. Then, comes His son, Joseph Hickock b. in 1645; then, his son, Samuel Hickock b. in 1687 in Woodbury, CT; his son, Nathan I (Hickock or Hickok) b. 1726 d. in Washington, CT in 1806; then Nathan II b. in Washington 1752, but died in the Township of Thompson, Sullivan County,NY. Elisha Hicock or Heacock was Nathan II's son. NathanII also had a son called Nathan b. 1779
who moved to Ontario, Canada, in 1800. He spelled his name Heacock (brother of Elisha). Would love to hear about your Heacocks. My husband's father spelled his name Hicock, but his brother spelled his name Heacock--all the same family!
