Sue, Ancestry.com indicates that Moses Parr (1738-1806) was born in South Kingston, Washington Co, RI. Died Jan 16, 1806 Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. His father is unknown to me but may have come from MA or RI. I've always hoped that more Parr descendants would submit DNA through the Parr DNA site and we can connect the early links. Moses Parr's ancestor maybe the Abel Parr (1641 Freeman) of the Massachusetts Bay Colony - we don't know. There is a Parr line in America from Ireland through Canada. At least one other Parr line from England to America. The DNA suggests no common ancestor for these two lines in the last 1,000+ years. Because there are so few records from that time period - DNA will someday be the way to prove or disprove all the Parr family lines. Looks like your Benjamin Badcock of RI married Anna Parr? And did Sarah Badcock marry Moses Sylvester Parr? Potentially, Moses Sylvester Parr is my fifth cousin, four times removed. His father might be Thomas Parr of VA. We are probably a couple of years away from sorting the early Parrs correctly. With enough input from everyone, we can do it. The DNA would then resolve the lines. Be fun to connect up with current day Parr lines in England and Australia. Let me know what you think. Bill in San Diego.
