I wonder if anyone has traced their ancestry to an Elizabeth Jones, a widow living in Danville, Steuben Co., N.Y., in the early 19th century. Her husband was Benjamin, no connection to the Isaiah Jones about which others have posted in the past; they were from the New York-Connecticut border area. I know of her from a deed from Ridgefield, Connecticut: on 7 June 1810 she quit-claimed to her brother Ebenezer Rockwell all rights to their parents’ estate.
As a researcher of the Fairfield County Rockwells, I'm interested in getting details on any children Benjamin and Elizabeth (Rockwell) Jones may have had. If they're your ancestors, I can share details of her ancestry. I have no details on any children they may have had, but speculate that she moved there to live with a child's family, esp. if Benjamin died elsewhere.
