Looking for info on Count DeGrasse Hastings born 1784 in Worcester Co. Mass. By 1820 he was in Schohaire Co. N.Y. It's likely his first wife whose name isn't known died in Schoharie Co. His 2nd wife was Lovina Conklin, uncertain when they married, but from the age of their children likely was in early 1820's. Lovina was born about 1806. I'm interested in the Count's first wife & their children.
According to the 1820 census he had 3 sons, one at least 18. I'm trying to connect the Count to my ancestor Henry Hastings born 1806. Henry moved to Frankfort, but by 1860 both were in Oswego Co. Sometimes the family was listed in Otsego Co. during this time period. The Count was a furniture maker as were some of his sons.
