"greenfield glimpses"-Anthony Haggerty early settler, names a son William. My 6th generation grandfather was James from Ballston, NY married Lois Finch who is mentioned attending the Baptist Church in Greenfield as Lois Hagity. In Herkimer county-land records William, James, Roger and Thomas are named. A William died 1812, wife Mary, Roger named on document. Thomas named on document with St. John's mentioned from Greenfield. The 1790 census has Willam with 4 males over 16 including head.one under 16.Thinking ?? Anthony father of William, William moves to Herkimer County with 4 sons following, James(mentioned in Herkimer County 200years), Thomas(mentioned in herkimer county 200 years), Roger(census 1820 in Oswego, 1830 ononadga county), William (mentioned in Herkimer County 200 years. Thoughts. its unusal that Greenfield only mentions Anthony and William nothing else could I find when visiting the area including the Historical Society.
Thanks,
Cheryl Haggerty Conkling-Ilion, NY
