I am looking for information about Ralph A. THOMAS.[abt 1876-?]

I have a letter from him, to my grandmother, Bertha (Armstrong) SHAFFER in Hancock, NY.

It is dated:
July 9, 1933.

The return address is:
New City, NY

It is signed:
With love and best wishes for all, I am
Your affectionate brother,

We believe that Ralph A.(Albert?)THOMAS (abt 1876) is Bertha's older half brother.

Bertha's parents were William ARMSTRONG [1852-1928] & Phoebe Avery [1858-1886]

The other brother and sisters were:
Emmett ARMSTRONG [1879-1958] died in Bronx Veterans Hospital
Bertha Armstrong) SHAFFER [1880-1935]last lived in Hancock,NY
Marie (Armstrong) WOLF [1882-1974]
Grace (Armstrong) PERET [1885-1973]last lived in Middletown, NY

We could find no trace of Ralph (Albert?) after Phoebe's death in about Sept. of 1886, in Keeryville, NY. William ARMSTRONG was a double amputee and the children went to live with various friends and relatives for a while. We could not find the older brother Ralph (Albert?).....UNTIL this letter. It was also the first hint that the missing half brother was NOT an ARMSTRONG, as he lived with them and is listed as an ARMSTRONG in the Hancock, Delaware Co. census of 1880, at age 4.

Can anyone help me find some info about Ralph A THOMAS?

I would appreciate any help, as I am in Washington State and unable to go to New City myself.

Thank you!

***I can look for birth, death & marriage records in Whitman Co, WA. I get to the County seat of Colfax once in a while and love to help others to find their families. I have had so much help from strangers, and this my way of passing the many kindnesses on.
