I am a professional digitizer and prepare material for CD and Webpage distribution for several libraries and historical groups in Rockland Co. I live in Piermont. They are not participating in this project so I am doing Piermont pro bono. This means I can put in my collection anything I want as long as it is not copyrighted. I am including excerpts from the Harpers New York and Erie Railroad Guide which have some of the earliest (1851) pictures known. I would like to include a little genealogy. Most of the old names "belong" to the rest of Rockland Co as well as Piermont. Do you have any suggestions as to names I should research and include? I think 1830 is a good starting point{going backwards ) since the population was so large after that. I have available digitized Street Directories for 1894 and 1906. I have many portraits of many people connected to the Liberty Street School. Do you have any pictures you would like to donate the images of to the Library system?? I will do that pro bono. In fact I would love to see any old {pre-1920]pictures of places and/or events in Rockland County. If you have a Nyack or Piermont connection drop me an e-mail. Kirsten
