I'm looking for information on the parents of my 3rd Great Grandfather, Josiah Nichols (b. 1822 in Stephenstown, Rennselaer, New York, d. 1898 Fields Landing, Humboldt, California). He married Hannah (possibly Anna) Anner Ross (1831-1907) and had 3 boys, Emmer Darwin, Charles Nichols and Earnest Jay. I have a bit of information on him and his descendants, but am looking for any information on his parents, whom I believe were both born in Vermont (I've also heard that his Father may have been born in Rhode Island, but I'm not sure on that one), but obviously ended up in Stephenstown for a period of time. I know the 1860 Census shows a Sally Nichols listed as living with them who was 77 (which would mean she was born around 1783), so I'm not sure if that's Josiah's Grandmother or other relative, but I'm hoping that somebody might have some information.
