Need help in searching for birth data re my ancestor, JESSE D. BUTS. He was born in Butternuts, Otsego, NY sometime between 1821 & 1822 from what I've been able to figure using census reports as a gague. Although I have a death certificate from August 1880 stating he was 59 years old, copies of his Civil War documents, I've not been able to determine his date of birth. Although many people are able to visit the places where the documents exist I'm financially unable to travel to NY to search through records that could deal with his date of birth. Jesse was married in November 1840 in Pittsfield, Otsego, NY to LUCINDA FURBUSH (b. 12/29/1815) but that is the only noted information I've found to date. Would be interested in knowing more about the marriage document also. If anyone reading this can help me, I'd be most appreciative.
