In your search of Washburn, have you ever come across a Stephen Washburn, Sr. born 1735 in New Milford, CT, or his son, Stephen Washburn, Jr. born 1770 (no birth record found)?
They settled in Bennington County, VT, where I have been told that Stephen Washburn died, but there is no record of his death and the cemetery became abandoned and is long gone.
Jr. went on to Leeds County, Ontario, where his 1813 will lists his "aged mother,Martha Washburn". I am also looking for Martha's maiden name.
