Sabra Stoddard and James Humphrey Bailey

I am looking for the parents of a Sabra Stoddard. She married James Humphrey Bailey, who was born in 1793 in Vermont. They had 2 known children:

Linval Laurentine Bailey, born July 03, 1813, in Cherry Valley, Otsego County, New York.

Lemuel Bailey, born in 1814.

I believe that Sabra was born in Cherry Valley.

If I were to go to Cherry Valley, how would I go about finding records? Where would I go? What type of records should I look for?
