We’re interested in PARKERS who lived in Otsego Co. NY in the early 1800’s, and are trying to find parents for William Samuel PARKER, born approximately 1820 or 1821, who resided for much of his life in the area where Bennington Co. VT meets Washington Co. NY and Rensselaer Co. NY. For atime after the Civil War he seems to have lived in Ashtabula Co. OH near one of his sons, George W. PARKER. Both of them are listed there in the 1870 Census but by 1880 both were back in the Bennington area. Family records state that William Samuel PARKER was married first to Sophronia CAREY, next Sybil GOODELL, then Ruth POTTER. According to the same source, William Samuel PARKER’S mother was named Hannah HOUSE, and his third marriage license states his father’s name as Sanmuel. Civil War documents list his birthplace as Burlington, Otsego Co. NY. Other towns in the family past are Hoosick Falls NY, White Creek NY, Lyons NY and Shaftsbury VT. Specifically we’re looking for a family group with William; his siblings (whose names are thought to be) Daniel, Belinda, Newman, Thomas, Elizabeth, Hannah, Mary and Washington; and especially his parents.
