Rebecca, I hadn't heard from you for awhile, and wondered if you were ill. I'm glad to see you back.
Too, Delevan HAS TO BE A PRONUNCIATION OF
DE LA VERGNE. And since you also had mentioned someone by this name saying something to you, there almost has to be a connection here. I have worked with words because of pronunciation, since I was 7 years old because it fascinated me so. Of
course, non genealogists would dispute it saying you have to stay with the spelling you
know, except that for the most part, their ancestors didn't know how to write, much less
how to spell, thus the change in spelling.
