Dan, these are all the notes we have on Experience. I don't know if he had a wife and children. But if this works out, I've got info on Experience's siblings, parents, etc. Good luck, Meredith

1774              Census of the "Inhabitants of the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations" arranged by John R. Bartlett. Baltimore Genealogical Publishing Company, 1969. Shows seven members of his household. Most likely Rufus Jr, his wife, three sons under age 16 and two daughters under age 16.
1790               Census of Providence County shows Rufus Mackintine to have two sons under age 16 and one daughter.
1800              Pittsfield, Otsego Co., NY Census
1810              Pittsfield, Otsego Co., NY Census
1820              Pittsfield, Otsego Co., NY Census
1830              Pittsfield, Otsego Co., NY Census

1773              Year born
1779              (May with Ezekiel Mitchell, Experience would have been 6 yrs old)
Birthdate along the side of the page. Experience Mackintire, son of Rufus Mackintire Jr. to be put out to Ezekiel Mitchell.
"Noted that Jesse Eddy be and hereby is allowed 19 pounds and 14 shillings of town treasury delivered to Rufus Mackintire Jr. family." (this entry is just after an entry dated 29 May 1779) Then on p. 56x (Between Dec 1780-April 7, 1781) Experience is released from Ezekiel and bound to Stephen Eddy. Said Mitchell decided it to be so.
1780              (Dec 1780-Apr 1781 Experience would be 7)
1795              Glocester, RI at age of 22 he is a witness when Stephen Mitchell sold to Grindal Thayer land that had been the homestead of Experience's grandparents, Experience and Hannah Mitchell. (NOTE: His grandfather sold the land just before he died to Grindal who sold it to Stephen then Stephen sold it back to Grindal.) FHL Film #844345 p.176-177
1797       "Experience seems to have moved to Otsego County first, certainly by 1797." - Shannan Sproull "A land deed record from Experience Mackintire dated 1797 (not 1795, as the Index of Deeds indicates), who was the first Mackintire to sell land and as you will note from the transcript I have enclosed it lists Experience (at that time living in Otsego Co. NY) as being 'late of Gloucester, State of Rhode Island." Glocester Town Council Records 1730-1784 - FHL #941845 p.42x
