Thank you for your thorough response. I do have Morris' death certificate and it doesn't list his parents. The most reliable information I have suggests that Morris Harrington was indeed born in Richfield Springs, Otsego County. One lead I am pursuing: on April 13, 1845, King Harrington married Polly Mulkins in Richfield, according to a notice in the Freeman's Journal. Other than the marriage announcement I have not been able to find out anything else about King Harrington, but the time line would fit to make him Morris' birth father. Another theory is that Morris was born out of wedlock to a single Harrington woman.
Thank you for the lead on the Harrington family in the 1850 census for Schuyler, Herkimer County. Schuyler is close enough to Richfield to make this a possibility.
