Sanderson

Harrison N. Sanderson, 66, of Spring Brook Apartments, Pulaski, died Tuesday evening Nov. 1 at the VA Hospital in Syracuse.

He was born May 11, 1911 in the Town of Richland the son of Frank and Angie Cleveland Sanderson.

He attended Pulaski Academy High School. He was married to Ruth Davis of Rome, N.Y. on June 12, 1947. Mr. Sanderson was employed as a carpenter in Syracuse. In recent years he was self-employed until his retirement in 1965.

Surviving are his wife Ruth; two daughters, Mrs. David [Patricia] Ingraham of Pulaski, and Mrs. George [Donna] Ballou, of Richland; on step-daughter, Mrs. Carol Finley of House Springs, Missouri. Another daughter, Janet M. Sanderson, age 15, died on Oct. 11, 1965. Three brothers also survive, James and Lynn Sanderson, both of Pulaski, and John Sanderson of Richland. Another brother, Frank Sanderson died Nov. 20, 1975. Eight grandchildren also survive.

Services were at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home in Pulaski with the Rev. Virgil Hager officiating. Following cremation, burial was in Daysville Cemetery with full military honors.

NANCY SANDERSON DIES
IN ROME HOSPITAL

Nancy Pearl Sanderson, aged 12, daughter of Mrs. Grace Sanderson and Harrison Sanderson died Monday morning, March 10, in Rome hospital. She has been ill for about four weeks.

She is survived by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Potter of Orwell and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sanderson, Sr. of Mexico.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at her home in Lee Center.

Frank Sanderson
of Orwell succumbs

Frank E. Sanderson, Sr., 63, of Orwell died on Thursday, November 20 at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown, where he had been a patient for nine days.

Mr. Sanderson was born on April 26, 1912 in the Town of Richland, the son of Frank and Angie Cleveland Sanderson. He attended Pulaski Academy and was married to Lucy M. Potter in 1933 at Richland. The couple lived at Rome, N.Y. before moving to Orwell.

Mr. Sanderson was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. as a maintenance foreman from 1945 until he retired in 1972. He was a member of Niagara Mohawk's 25 Year Club and was a member of the Orwell Union Church. He was a past member of the Orwell Odd Fellows Lodge and the Orwell Fire Department.

In the November elections this year, he was elected to a two-year term as assessor in the Town of Orwell.

Surviving besides his wife are: three sons, Frank E., Jr. and James E. of Pulaski and Larry G. of Altmar; two daughters, Mrs. David [Judith] Daugherty of Orwell and Miss Cindy Sanderson at home; four brothers, James, Lynn and Harrison of Pulaski and John of Richland and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 22 at 2 p.m. at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski with the Rev. Ivan Greenfield officiating.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.

BETTY SANDERSON DIES
IN ROME HOSPITAL

Betty Ann Sanderson, 7 years old, daughter of Harrison [sic] and Lucy Potter Sanderson died Monday evening at a Rome hospital as a result of injuries received about 2 p. m. Sunday while tobogganing near the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Potter at Orwell.

With a cousin, Nancy Sanderson, 9, she was riding a toboggan which struck a post at the foot of the hill. Betty was knocked unconscious and Nancy suffered sever bruises about the head and the loss of several teeth.

The youngsters were drawn to the home of their grandfather, by members of the Pulaski Ski club, which has a run and ski tow on another section of the hill. Several doctors were called and Dr. J. J. Repa of Richland and Dr. A. B. Thompson were finally located. She was immediately taken to the hospital by an uncle, George Plummer, of Altmar, who was visiting at the Potter home.

She was born at Pulaski, June 19, 1936. She was a member of the First Methodist Sunday school in Rome and a student in the third grade of Fort Stanwix school.

Surviving besides her parents and maternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Potter of Orwell, are her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sanderson of Pulaski; one brother, Frank E. Sanderson, Jr., and several aunts and uncles.

Correction -- Miss Betty Ann Sanderson, 7 years old, who died from injuries received sliding two weeks ago was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Sanderson instead of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Sanderson as was reported last week.
